I’ve been reading 100 Bullets recently, Brian Azzarello’s epic crime/grit series which focuses largely on a mysterious criminal organization called The Trust, who used to employ hitmen called The Minutemen. In issue 26, the art gets farmed out in a series of would-be covers, single pages displaying some serious talent. Above is Dave Gibbons’ contribution, the artist likely best known for Watchmen. I dig it. It’s grim, surreal, and fits the mood perfectly.</p> <p>For anyone who thinks comics are for kids and/or social lepers, I would make a lengthy argument regarding their literary merit, but why bother. You can miss out on this stuff.
